New record! Updated on 6 October 2023.
The EU's Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) is a tool to put a fair price on the carbon emitted during the production of carbon intensive goods that are entering the EU, and to encourage cleaner industrial production in non-EU countries. The CBAM will enter into application in its transitional phase on 1 October 2023, with the first reporting period for importers ending 31 January 2024. Initially, it will apply to imports of certain carbon-intensive goods, including cement, iron and steel, aluminium, fertilisers, electricity and hydrogen.
Start learning about the CBAM by familiarising yourself with its legal basis! Need more knowledge? Check out the certificate course "CBAM & Practical Implementation in Companies". This video is Part 2 of the course, which has been updated on 6 October 2023.
