Muitinės tarpininkai yra svarbi muitinės ekosistemos dalis. Bendradarbiavimas su šiais profesionalais gali būti labai naudingas abiem šalims - verslui ir muitinei. Muitinės tarpininkai imasi … kompleksiškų su muitiniu įforminimu susijusių užduočių, saugo ir tenkina suinteresuotų šalių interesus, tuo pačiu metu suderindami skirtingus jų interesus (pvz., greitas pristatymas ir kruopštus patikrinimas) ir sutaupo daug laiko, kad jos galėtų sutelkti dėmesį į savo pagrindinę veiklą. Tema nėra nauja, todėl būtų galima manyti, kad ši veiklos sritis jau turėtų būti sustyguota ir standartizuota. Tačiau 19-ajame autorių susitikime vykusios diskusijos parodė, kad Europos ir Amerikos šalyse vis dar yra daugiau klausimų nei atsakymų.
